Privacy & cookies
This page describes the reader features and analytics used by Matty's Cookbook.
Reader notes and the guestbook
The name or nickname and message you submit appear publicly. Please avoid posting private contact details or other sensitive information. Notes, likes and their timestamps are stored to provide these features. If you sign in, your account identifier can be associated with your notes.
A first-party cookie called cookbook_reader identifies your browser so you can manage your notes and likes. It expires after one year. You can remove your own notes with their delete controls; Matty can also remove notes. Removing browser cookies can affect access to notes posted without signing in.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics helps Matty understand which recipes readers visit and how the cookbook is used. The Google tag loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” If you decline, the cookbook does not load that tag.
When allowed, Google receives usage information such as pages viewed, referral information and browser or device information, and uses analytics cookies to distinguish visits. The cookbook's tag disables Google signals and advertising personalization.
You can change your choice using “Analytics choices” at the bottom of any page. Your choice is saved in this browser's local storage. Declining stops future analytics collection by this tag; it does not erase data already received by Google or necessarily remove existing analytics cookies. You can clear cookies through your browser settings.
How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
The cookbook uses the Pinterest tag to measure page visits and understand how Pinterest activity relates to visits to the website. The tag currently loads when a page opens. The “Analytics choices” control applies to Google Analytics only.
Hosting
Hosting providers process requests to deliver the cookbook and operate its reader features. Those requests include connection information such as your IP address. This notice describes the cookbook's application features; your browser and service providers may also have their own privacy settings.
